Mario is interested in Lactarius, Tuber and African edible mushrooms, and he is the scientific coordinator of a network on Terfezia-culture (called MYCOLUDESME). This network includes research-teams from Mediterranean countries as Morocco (Rabat, Meknes), Algeria (Oran), Italy (Torino), Israel (the Negev- Beer-Sheva), France (Nancy, Dijon) and Spain (Alcala de Henares, Murcia).
